Scope
Company providing daily order proposals to thousands of supermarkets, aiming to maximize profits, minimize waste, and optimize storage capacity.

Problem
Outdated and low performing technologies. Product instability, lack of compliance, high costs.

Our role
We assembled and led a team of 8 engineers to expand and maintain the existing stack by migrating to newer technologies in Azure, ensuring stability, security compliance, scalability, and cost efficiency. To facilitate rapid client onboarding and centralized pipeline management, we highly templatized the product. Daily run orchestration was handled by custom dynamically built Airflow DAGs, which executed various ETL processing services. Large-scale data processing was managed with Dask clusters, while data persistence was handled in Snowflake. The CI/CD pipeline was automated through GitHub Actions, while custom Jupyter environments were used for analytics.

Scope
Leading UK/International telecommunication company requested our help with insights about their network coverage and support cloud migration . We needed to analyse enormous amounts of usage data provided by the telecom’s large and complicated network of devices (modems, towers, centers).
Our initiatives:
– The ingested data helped us draw a coverage map for each city in each of the countries;
– We processed terabytes of data daily in order to provide component upgrade and maintenance plans, according to the optimal performance/cost graphs;
– Our team was processing the employees workforce analysis and ad campaigns;
– We complied with local country GDPR regulations whenever data moved from one location to another and we made sure that it is anonymized;
– Working on in-house frameworks to cover data as part of specific templates. Reducing the possible error and amount of people supporting the systems;
– Ensuring secure data handling and best practices for data in transit, leveraging NIFI for external data collection, GCP Cloud DataFusion, Dataproc Spark clusters, DataFlow for ETL processes, and BigQuery for data storage; The international team consisted of 60 data engineers, data scientists, DevOps, and business analysts, all working towards the company’s cloud migration initiative.
